New Super Mario Bros. (Imran)

The New Mario game for the Dsi or the Ds lite is a great game. You play as Mario travelling through different worlds. Inside each world, there are levels. You play all the levels until you reach the half-way point. Once you beat the half-way point level, you have the choice to save. You also can save when you beat each world. The overall goal off the game is to save Princess Peach from the evil Bowser!!! There all so mini games where you play to try and beat your own high score. The game also features a multiplayer option that lets play with someone on another Dsi or Ds via the multi player mode. In this mode, one of you will play a Luigi and the other as Mario. This is a great game for anyone who likes Mario or if you just want to give it a try. It is still fun. The game costs between $20-$30 and is super fun.

purr pals

Purr pals is a really fun game in which you take care of a cat. You get to choose the cat out of many breeds and different costs depending on the breed. You also get money. To get more money you either play games or enter in a contest and win first, second, or third prize. The contests are fun but also hard. You are judged on the quality of your cat - whether he is playful, loving, and clean and other similar categories. You get a rank out of 10 (10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest). You also can buy stuff such as food, litter, and accessories in the store. You can also buy wallpaper, rugs, and other objects such as that to decorate the place where your kitten lives. To keep your kitten entertained, you can buy toys which range from a butterfly (where you blow into the microphone to launch it) to a ball (where you just bounce it off of the walls and your kitten bites it). The kittens are very lifelike and cute and the objects are lifelike as well. I think this could be a bit of a better game if there were more toys and if some of the accessory pictures were a bit better quality. All in all, I think this is a very good game and I give it 4 1/2 stars.

Epicurious (iPod App)

Epicurious is a really cool cooking app that lets you view recipes for dinners, desserts, and sides as well as search. The search tool is very handy because you can put in specific ingredients. For example, if you are making chocolate chip cookies, the main ingredient you put in will be chocolate and then for meal you would put dessert and for type you would put cookie. For keyword you could put chocolate chip cookie. When you hit the search button it will tell you how many recipes you will find and you can find out if you made your search too specific or too general. I recommend two recipes: Chocolate-Peanut Butter Chip cookies and Best Cocoa Brownies.

I give it 4 out or 5 stars since it is slightly slow in loading but overall it is a very good app.

Flip It! (Imran)

Flip it! - Flip it! is a great app that lets you create flip books. It is a very easy app to use. First you draw a picture then you click on the button to go to the next page, it shows where you're last drawing was on the last page so you know where to draw. The free version only allows you to do 2 books at a time and you have to limit your book to 10 pages whereas the full version only costs  $0.99 and you have unlimited books and unlimited pages. Overall Flip it! is a great app and it is a lot of fun. I would give this app 5 out of 5 stars.

*tip- You have to be patient as it takes some time to make the actual flip book.
